All My Friends Are Dead CH1 Rough
"Gabriel Madea has had what most people would consider an easy life, with one significant exception. Despite a comfortable job in management and an indulgent family, he is constantly overshadowed by pathological levels of anxiety that are only broken by cycles of depression that come and go with no warning and no respite. For years he manages to self-medicate through an inconsistent regimen of prescription and street drugs, but eventually his life catches up to him, leaving him fired from his job and facing the possibility of jail time should his secret be revealed.
With nothing left to tie him to his old life and with no sense of purpose, he goes to have one last drink in a small, gimmicky bar on the edge of the arts district. There, he meets Seth Soto, a vagabond writer with an enormous force of personality. To Gabriel, Seth is everything that he cannot be - charming, well-connected, and confident. Seth convinces Gabriel to give up his old life and travel the country, and Gabriel soon discovers that Seth may not be the person that Gabriel thought he was.
All My Friends Are Dead is a story about queer men attempting to navigate the challenges of neurodivergence and the toxic effects of abuse, while building their own sense of morality and family."
